Why do we wait so long to offer in basketball? (2016)

LINK With all these LA recruits we only have 1 offer out. If M&M returns we can possible lose 4 underclassmen and for sure 2 seniors. I'm just really getting into basketball recruiting but it doesn't take a genius to figure out you need a big recruiting class when you lose 6 of your top 7 players in one year. Is JJ more concerned with oos players or are these LA recruits overrated?

There are so few spots that you need to be certain the players you are offering are players that you want

We've offered 4 guys for 2016 LINK

Maybe they don't think those LA recruits are good enough for an offer. You can't offer everyone.

Three 4* and one 3* would be a nice class.

I know for sure LSU has more 2016 offers out than that list.

With hoops, you only offer 10 people at most.

For in-state kids, you have to be certain you have room for them. So far, Mays is the only one that Coach Jones feels comfortable offering. They've been talking with a ton of guys and I don't think you can fault the staff for not being aware of someone.

The videos I have seen of Mays are pretty good, I guess he will probably move up the rankings a little in the next year
