New Iberia man barricaded inside home since approximately 4PM

I've got family that live on one of the streets that are closed. Pretty busy neighborhood in a nicer part of town. Authorities have had the streets shut down since 4PM. Supposedly the man has some mental problems and my family is saying they've heard shots fired in the last few minutes, perhaps tear gas.

Tear gas it then burn it down. No sense in having innocent bystanders this evening.

Supposedly a local guy who has had mental issues and is a conspiracy nut. The authorities have been incredibly patient in the situation considering it has been going on for more than 5 hours and has yet to be resolved. There were rumors of hostages and perhaps multiple deaths, but all of that has been refuted and it appears it is just a single man alone in his home.
Spoke to my family and there have been multiple shot sounds in the last 30-45 minutes. Allegedly tear gas or some sort of deterrent. Not gunshots.

Police were called to a domestic disturbance supposedly between this man and his elderly father. The man went inside with a pistol and has had no contact with authorities or anyone else sense then.
