Mairzy Dotes - My dad used to sing that song when I was a kid.
I like this one.

Depends what you consider a "song." It probably isn't a simple pop song from from the 40's though or a birth of bubblegum pop song from the 60's. Up there as one of my favorite pieces of music ever conceived is Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Absolutely amazing that he was pretty much completely deaf at the time that he wrote it. One of the most beautiful things ever created, a true testament to the beauty of which man is capable, and the creator of the masterpiece was barred from ever hearing it outside of his own head. I think there's something sadly poetic to that. I guess it's hardly just a song though.

Are we talking just the song itself? Or is the production and sound of it to be taken into account?

One of my all-time favorites :
Summertime - Billy Stewart
Oh, and I couldn't leave out :
Subterranean Homesick Blues - Dylan

I think it's tragic, and one of life's saddest tales. Gary Oldman as Beethoven, btw, was terrific.
