My wife changed jobs and the previous employer moved the $ she had in their 401K to an IRA with RCH (Retirement Clearinghouse) a month after she left. She is now working part time and doesn't qualify for her new employers retirement plan.

RCH is charging her $3.50 a month for their "service". It's invested in a Federated Investors Money Market.

What should I do?

depends on the allocation of your total portfolio. You should put less tax efficient investments in a Roth to maximize its benefits.

you'll have to pay taxes on it if you convert to a Roth. Just transfer the IRA to somewhere that doesn't charge a fee.

I moved all of my old 401Ks to an IRA at Fidelity. So far so good.
