If I remember correctly multi sport athletes on scholarship that play football have to count towards the football teams allotment. I think this is an old rule put in place because of certain schools abused the system this way

Yeah, does anyone have a link on this? I've been curious since we've had several instances of players being on both the football and baseball teams over the years, but I can't find the rule stated clearly anywhere.

I know football is a head count sport, meaning that they only give out full scholarships. But if a guy is on the baseball or track team with only a partial scholarship, are they allowed to play football and keep their partial scholarship?

6'3" 220 is plenty big enough to be an outside linebacker especially if he runs a 4.4 or 4.3. Might not be a prototype 3-4 guy but Steele likes to run multiple fronts and I have a feeling that a player with those measurables falls under the "I'll make an exception and put you on the field" category if he knows the playbook

I thought that if you play football and you are on scholarship, even if you are a member of the golf team (or track or whatever), you count against football's total. Tex used to load up on track guys.

Hmmm?

a QB who had a 48% completion percentage and only threw for 1600yds and 11Tds for the season

a lot of that has to do with the crappy play we got from the receiver position last season combined with a scheme/play calling that didn't do the QB's any favors.
