Is being a "recruiter" the official job for people with no skills?

I know so many folks, particularly chicks, who are retards and got general business degrees in college. Now they are recruiters.

My only experiences with recruiters were the ones my dad had for his job. He always bitched about bad ones, but he said the good ones were usually people from his field who thought they could do better than the usual people (and they always could).

Most recruiters in my field have several years experience actually working before going headhunter route.

No. To be a recruiter you usually had have worked in the field and be seasoned. Anyone can't go and recruit, definitely not people who lack the experience of what they are selling recruits.

Or you just have to be a good liar.

I was going to compare them to real estate agents. Many out there don't make their numbers and are out in a couple of years. The good ones make bank and often land exclusive searches with big companies.

I thought that was reserved for "coaches." I don't know if that is an Oregon thing but everyone here is rebranding as life/executive coaches.

Did you essentially say sales people are without skills? Most people don't have the stomach, motivation, and all around savvy to truly be great in sales.

Recruiters are a form of sales but most I know weren't that great in sales so they moved to recruiting.

What's the point of recruiters, when there are tons of job search websites?
If I were an employer, I wouldn't put faith in a recruiter to find my next employee.

A good recruiter will go after people that are already employed and not currently looking. I've taken 2 jobs when I wasn't even looking

In my experience it's usually safety people who are the ones who can't do what others can, so they take those positions.
