Ok, how many movies did this one rip of...er um, "pay homage" to? Wasn't a bad movie. It kept me interested throughout. Basically like a video game. Gotta beat the minor bosses until you get to the Big Boss battle.
Here are three movies "paid homage to":
The Matrix (the "Mimics" looked like the squigglies)
Starship Troopers (the "brain bug", among others)
Saving Private Ryan (duh)
There are more, but I'd like to see your thoughts

Groundhog Day. But I enjoyed the movie for what it was

Quick, tell me a modern movie that doesn't "rip off" or "pay homage" to 10 other films.

I would do terrible, wonderful things to Emily Blunt.

The only thing I didn't like about this movie was the look of the Mimics. They could have done a much better job there

The one it seemed to mimic most (no pun intended) was Source Code.

I'm not sure whether that movie is underrated or simply overlooked. I fear that Edge of Tomorrow is going to end up the same way.

well, you know, that is because the writer of the book based his book on a character living through a video game.

quote:so if anything resembles another movie, it's basically a ripoff? Is sharknado a ripoff of jaws? they both have sharks in it. No it's not because Sharknado is a masterpiece

Yep, they obviously borrowed the replay events theme from Groundhog Day but I really enjoyed the movie as I do most of Tom Cruise's movies.

Watched this a couple of times this weekend and thought it was fantastic. That could have really sucked balls in the wrong hands, but for the most part it was a tight well put together movie.

Any movie you get to see Tom Cruise die like 20 times is damn good IMO...

Movie was great, idc if that movie didn't have a single original concept, was fun and definitely worth a watch

Emily Blunt is in that movie.

Cruise's best movie in a long time.
