A Message from Chicken: **IN AN EFFORT TO CONSERVE BAND WIDITH, PLEASE KEEP ALL MONROE-WEST MONROE MARDI GRAS DISCUSSIONS HERE**

Thanks Chicken.

Well it's that time of year again when the Krewe of Janus pulls out all the stops and blesses the Twin Cities with another dazzling Mardi Gras Parade. For the first time this year they will deviate off the Louisville corridor to roll the parade past the gorgeous new River Walk area and the adjacent ghettos and slums in and around Desiard St.

New Parade Route:

As in years past, the Krewe is expecting a heavy influx of persons from South LA seeking the true Mardi Gras experience and have compiled a list of available lodging options, most offering Mardi Gras discounts.

The Gestapo in West Monroe are vowing to enforce their open container laws this year, so make sure you Bawcomites and West Monroeians keep your adult beverages in a cup like Tina Earl here. But for God's sake stay on your side of the river.

We will be posted up across from Enoch's and float between there, Enoch's and the Jiffy Lube. Come visit, unless you're from West Monroe.

and as the say "Let The Bon Times Roullet"

I live right by 2 parade routes in Shreveport. The next 2 Saturdays, my entire neighborhood will become one giant redneck convention from all corners of north LA, Arkansas, and east Texas.

I just sit on my front steps and people watch.

And to keep people from parking in my driveway.

Pretty sure they're just trying to get people to look at the multi-million dollar River Walk since nobody goes to it. Having the parade roll by it will somehow justify the cost.

Woo Hoo.

I'm a classy West Monroevian who has spent that last few years being cultured in NOLA.
