To improve the offense, specifically the passing game, and maintain a top 10 defense?

No changes were made to the offensive coaching staff and Steele has not had the same success as the Chief at the D Coordinator position.

Will this translate to more or less wins in 2015?

well, there's one particular position that would appear to be the key to improving the passing game. so are saying the change that needed to be made should have been with that position coach/ coordinator?

I think Coach Cam's admittance of not creating an offensive scheme to fit his players is a step in the right direction. Whether or not he changes the scheme to fit like he said....that's on him and his future at LSU.

Why?? Sure the QB play was poor last season but LSU produced a lot of points in 2013, and the offensive line improved during the season in 2014. Who would you like to change on the offensive staff?

Logical questions do not work on these people, they will not rest until Les Miles is gone. No matter how well the team play or whatever accolades the team receives they will find some flaw no matter how small and beat it like a dead horse. It's ridiculous

while your post may contain truth you take all the fun out of football if we cannot be armchair experts

It is part of the game

Relax CLM is going to be here for a while. He fits LSU's M.O.

I am completely fine with criticism but most of the time there is no "constructive' critism. It's always the same story, some outraged coon arse all hopped up on miller lite gets on here and just starts to spew nonsense. Complete disregard for facts and real life examples and all hung up on keeping up with the Jones'. Constructive criticism is just what it is.. constrictive, the stuff that comes up on here in my opinion hurts the programs and gives rational people that love/follow the team a bad name.

no, he made them because chavis forced his hand and miles tried to improve the defense which I think he did by.....

adding 2 damn good recruiters
adding better coaching on the DL and possibly LB

while the chief had some very good attributes as a DC (and some damn good talent to make it work) he seemed to have had some glaring faults including recruiting the front 7 and late game coaching scheme. the notre damn game exposed his defense completely. our defense bent the whole game allowing notre dame's offense to keep the ball a loonnngg time.

imo, chavis left because I think (no proof) that miles was as frustrated as us fans over the last 2 or 3 seasons of the chiefs shortcomings and miles pressed him to can haley and then the chief saw we had no DL or LB recruits and decided to take the money aggy was offering. he can improve that defense and look like a guru. aggy would be happy with LSU's success, for awhile at least.

The continued success of LSU football since Saban left is in Miles' hands. The things people complain about are much smaller issues than the actual W's this team accomplishes on a regular basis. And a down year was expected this year by anyone with eyeballs.

There are different types of people, and that will not change. Some will focus on the good things we do have and how they can/will improve. Others will focus on what's wrong, move to blame next, and stay stuck in that frame of mind. It's beyond football.

The way it played out over two weeks it sure looked like Chavis expected LSU to match the offer. I think Chavis is as surprised as anyone to find himself at College Station. That's just my impression from the outside looking in, I could be wrong.

Haley is a strong recruiter and seemed to be popular with the players but d-line has been a big weakness in SEC play for a couple of years now. I think Orgeron is a clear upgrade over Haley, I hope to say the same about Steele over Chavis one day but I won't make that leap today.

As to Cam, I'm not judging too harshly on one year but this should be his put up or pack up season.

Finishing 5th in the SEC West and having the worst offense in the league is no small flaw.

Then why did people who predicted 8-5 before the season get branded "negatigers"? Why was the team ranked in the top 15 in preseason? Clearly, the level of bad this team was fell short of even the low-end expectations.

More importantly, why does the fact that a bad season was expected, assuming it even was, justify having a bad team? Does that somehow make it OK? A lot of people were expecting Florida to have a bad season this year, and they did. So what? Were they supposed to keep Muschamp because the bad team he built was expected? If that were valid reasoning, Curley Hallman should still be here because we always expected bad seasons when he was here and he always delivered exactly what was expected of him.
