Start with, not stick with. They're both very good games, although Persona 4 is a bit easier to play. I only recommend P3 first, because the advancements in P4 will make P3 a bit harder to play.

I would play it in this particular order if possible:
Persona 3: FES, Persona 4: Golden, Persona 2 games (I forget the order of them atm.) Not sure you really would want to play Persona 1 unless you are really into the Shin Megami Tensei games, which can be quite aggravating to casual gamers as they are quite difficult. P1 is a lot more like those games, and the battle system in P1 is pretty meh... P2 and P3 have the better stories, and P4 has the better characters. /endramble
