Incoming complaining about not signing a LB.

I love this class.

If LSU pulls Divinity and Joyner next class, it will all be ok. The o and d line recruiting blew away my expectations from a month ago.

Very excited about the offensive and secondary haul, not so excited about the lack of players in the front seven

Next year the state is loaded, that had to have something to do with it

I'm very happy with the overall talent. However, the holes in this class will cause us problems down the line. If you write each position group in one column, and the nmber of signees in the next, they should be roughly equal. A great program will recruit that way. LSU rarely recruts that way. We usually have some big gaps. This year was one of the worst examples, with zero LBs or DTs.

Pick a random consistent program, that starts with "A", and do the same exercise. It will match, almost exactly, every friggin year. That's the gap we need to close. That's what will change us from an every four years cycle to an every year cycle.

We're getting as much talent as anyone else. The NFL rosters prove that. We just need to smooth it out.

It's a good class, but we needed DT and LB recruits

Glaring holes in this class overall. I'd put it at a 6.5/10. Last year and 2011 were amazing.

I have an idea.

Stop going after kids in Mississippi.

Zero rbs, in 2013.

Did that hurt us? No.

Seems like it's been very quiet or maybe I just wasn't paying that close of attention

Who's our most hyped recruit?

And did we get any QB's?

Our biggest position of needs were ot, rb, cb and de.

Not lb and DT. We didn't lose a single DT, and gain two with Trey L and valentine.

Linebackers we have beckwith, Louis, Jones, Garrett, Riley. Can move a guy like voorhies there. Also wouldn't be surprised to see us in 3 man fronts with our undersized ends playing linebacker.

We are fine.

Didn't say we weren't, still needed one of each at those positions

How so, the guy said we need to sign guys at every position every year. Says it hurt us in the past. I'm simply pointing out where it didn't.

So should we take guys from in state at DT that never would have played for LSU? What's the point?

I agree we should gave gone harder after migginus, but we didn't. Not the end of the world. Our linebackers usually have been the weakest area on the team under chavis save a couple of players that weren't even recruited by him.

RB position is a lot easier to plug and play vs. LB or DT. Happy with class but LB was really needed. Maybe Melvin Jones can come back?

But if we signed some they would have already had a year under their belt. It's all about preparing for the future.

Now the kids we bring in next year will have to develop very quickly

Well it is the only time in miles' tenure we had back to back top 5 classes. And yes we signed a back to back Texas state champ qb in its highest division.

People will bitch just to bitch instead of being happy for young men that did decide to play for us. Even with a shake up in the staff and a down year record wise.

How so

It's way harder to make an impact as a freshman LB or DT than as a freshman RB.
