He is the 24th ranked QB(ESPN) but has no offers. LSU at this point is lacking QB depth. What do they have to lose by offering him? LINK

They have two top rated QBs for 2016. The coaching staff is content with what they have already and what they're going to get next year.

Turn on your sarcasm meter.

I guess you missed the 8+ threads about him in the past week

That speaks volumes to the credibility of ESPN's rankings.

I like what I read about him. The only negative I have heard on him is that he is a pocket passer and not the swiftest in his feet.

Might be worth a spot.

Easton has an incurable disease that Les can't allow on the team- he's a pocket passer ! We have four and five star WRs but can't get the ball to them cause we gotta have an optional QB.

When we play Ala. and you see #1 rated QB , Blake Barnett , pass the ball like he did when he won the National Highschool Passing Contest, maybe he will change Les' crippled mind if he is still coaching at LSU in two years.

Worth a shot despite there already being 8 threads on him. We were going after a guy committed to Ohio State so obviously the coaches think we could use another QB in this class. Since Golsten stuck with Ohio State I wish we would offer this kid. Any kid ranked as high as he is is worth a shot when you have a spot available.

Sorry, I don't follow recruiting that closely.

Apparently last week LSU thought they were going to sign 25 and didn't have a spot for him. That's not the case now.

The fact LSU has 2 commitments for next year is nice but things do change over a year and some players don't measure up to the expectations.

It's just MO, but now with a spot open LSU has absolutely nothing to lose by offering him.

Did you know: Blake Barnett is a dual threat QB

Did you know II: Anthony Jennings won on the elite 11 passing circuit and was praised heavily by Jon Gruden and most analysts on his pocket presence and accuracy

You can ask that to every FBS school in the nation, considering not a single 1 offered him.

Yesterday I would have said we don't room for him but today that is not the case. My only point is we have room for him now, with nothing to lose with an offer.

Except you lose that offer spot... And next year the state of LA is absolutely loaded, on the same level as 2014, and we are lookin very good for some stud OOS players, like Keion Joyner. And look at how we ended recruting this year... Our staff finished as strong as anyone in the nation. And it's even more impressive that they have only been a complete staff for just a few weeks. Imagine what they will be able to do with the 2016 class and having a full year to recruit and build those relationships.

If there is ever a year for us to have a few extra scholarship spots freed up, it's next year.

Plus, this Bruere kid could suck and be a complete waste of a scholarship spot. And we would lose that scholarship spot if we offered and got him. So we have something to lose.

Brandon Harris better pan out because if he doesn't we are in bad shape for the next two seasons. We could be stuck with a Porsche and nobody to drive it!

I will be the first to admit I don't know much about our only QB we signed this year but what little bit of film I saw on him did not impress. Hope I am wrong on him.

Just seems like a team that can't find a quarterback other than me the last decade would maybe take a chance on a QB that has thrown for over a hundred TD's with almost no interceptions.

Maybe the coaches see/know that BH is the real deal.

Next year we already have 1 of the top QBs committed in Felipe Franks and we have a 5* QB in state in Shea Patterson.

And I'm a believer in Harris and think he has plenty of talent. Just hope he matures, works his arse off, and improves this offseason.

And yea this kid has great college stats, but New Mexico is 1 of the worst states in America when it comes to talent. Since 2010, they have had just two 4* players and nine 3* players in the entire state. And just 30 recruits total. Since 2010. And go back even further, since 2005 it's produced just four 4* and eleven 3*.

And he attended a lot of camps and showcases and what not.. And still nobody offered him. There is a reason.

We have also offered qb's that were never expected to play. McCarthy and Kragthorpe, which I think were more professional courtesies than anything else.

The reason that kid has no offers is because he's a poor QB, and any college coach can see that even if he only watches his highlights. The kid is not very accurate, and his arm strength is lacking. Watch the video carefully. After each play ask yourself if you've seen evidence of a D1 arm. Don't be fooled because he lobbed the ball to a wide open receiver.

Guys, the level of competition through out NW (and this particular HS) is terrible. No exaggeration. The competition level is not good.
