Do I need to contact EJ to give them heads up or just let vanguard do their thing?

good question. I don't think you need to tell them anything, (i believe they will hit you with a 100 dollar closing account fee)but i did just to let my salesman know why i was leaving. Not long after that she quit! LOL

Never realized the amount I was payin at EJ. Once they talked how they only charge the "ratio" or whatever it is, makes a pretty big difference after a while. Going to switch my wifes next, shes got some BS (Investment Company of America) crap. They guy sold some of her stocks and now is sending us a 1099B IRS form for making a $58 profit.

make sure at vanguard you sign up for paperless electronic statements so you have NO ANNUAL fee on your roth. no loads, cheap expense ratios, cheap commissions for stock trading(yes you can do it online unlike edward jones, what a novel concept eh?). great service.
