Kevin Durant didn't practice today and Scott Brooks says it's unlikely he'll be available tomorrow against the Pelicans.

Awesome for Pels, terrible for my son. He was so stoked to see KD play irl.

Sweet. I was looking for more info on this. I bet he is out Friday too.

Wouldn't count on it. Surely they know the implications. They lose both of these and they are effectively 5 games back from the Pelicans because of the tiebreaker and 4-5 back from Suns too. Would all but eliminate them.

While this should be good news, the Pels are so weird this year that KD not playing scares me.

We beat them once with KD and once without. Just gotta keep a level head after beating the Hawks. I have faith right now.

Any fear of Westbrook going off without having Jrue to defend him?

Yes, for sure. Westbrook is going to get his, just got to make sure to clamp down on the rest.

Pondexter has looked similarly pesky to Jrue. Maybe not quite as good, but good enough to stay in front of him. And the last 5 minutes of the last OKC game was Asik's shining moment of the season the way he controlled the paint and personally shut Westbrook drives down at least 3 times IIRC.

That's why we have Jimmer.

Qpon somewhat balances it out. He can score 50 for all I care. As long as everyone else gets shut out, I think we can get this done twice.

I think in the like 20 something games the Grizz have played against them in the last couple of years I don't think I ever saw this matchup.

I think he could do a good job.

eta: Just realized that QPon was injured for one of those series and Westbrook for the other, so thats probably why I never remember seeing it.
