Me and the wife will be in BR this weekend. We are looking for a lunch spot on Friday near college and I-10. Would like to keep it under $40 without drinks.

Nothing really off of College, but City Pork and Bistro Byronz are not far at all. Both have good food and good atmospheres. Byronz has good cocktails too.

There's a lot of good lunch options on Corporate Boulevard, which is near College/I-10. Zoe's Kitchen and Maxwell's Market jump to mind off the bat. Albasha's is also on Corporate.

If you're into chain restaurants, there's plenty of options.

I'd go to Zoe's Kitchen like someone suggested.

I suggest getting lunch to-go, that way you have something to occupy yourselves while you are mired in traffic.

The new location of Anthony's on Gov't isn't THAT far from I-10/College. I'd go with that.

Or just say "frick it" and get Chick-Fil-A.

This didn't even cross my mind. I agree with this.

It'll be slammed, I'm sure. So beware of that. But this is a good idea, and you can just get it to-go if you want.

Immediately near your hotel is going to be chains. Which is fine because it isn't bad ones (Ruths), but I assume the thread means you want to find something exclusive to BR. As far as the places on Corporate (Zoes, Maxwells, etc.), they aren't all that much closer than Anthony's is.

ETA: Chelsea's is a good suggestion too because the interstate is right there. You can hop on at Perkins or Acadian to go back wherever you're heading.

Zoe's is a chain, nothing exciting there. Watered down versions of mediterranean food. I'd go to Albasha before Zoe's any day. Hell, I'd eat at Whole Foods before I went to Zoe's.

City Pork left me cold. Just meh food all around. Trying to be so much, and falling far short of the mark.

If Rama was open for lunch, I'd suggest going there....sadly, it's not.

Think Jones and I split that last time we did brunch there too. I definitely remember him eating/loving it.

OP: If your wife is into cutesy espresso/sandwich places, Magpie does daily offerings, and it's pretty good.

I so wish Latte e Miele was still here.
