I never see this guy listed when talking about great Bassists - Gary Strater from the 70's prog rock band Starcastle. Mainly because he is just not that well known.

Strater was a decent bass player himself - liked that muscular, trebly style of playing that Squire made famous.

No denying the parallel in styles. I was a huge Prog Rock fan growing up, loved YES, but it never hurt my feeling this band sounded so much like them. I just always liked Strater's style of play (and of course Squire's also). These guys were pretty good live as well, saw Yes and Starcastle back in the 70's.
