I am digging this song a lot more than either of the singles that have been released so far.

MM - The Best Room

It's not bad. Still, none of the 3 songs that have been released have really grabbed me. Unfortunately :(

Did you like We Were Dead? I loved it and listened to it all the time after it came out. It grew stale after a year and I don't think I've listened to the whole album in years.

It wasn't bad, but def my least favorite abum of theirs.

It did have some really good songs on it though, Florida, March Into the Sea, Fire It Up ect.

I'm a fan of all those songs mentioned from We Were Dead, but overall, the album just feels like a dud to me.

Parting of the Sensory is actually one of my favorite MM songs.

I'll never understand the hate for this album (not that you said you hated it but many do). I got drunk and started a thread about it not too long ago LINK

But I concur, I was cautiously optimistic about it but I'm starting to be less cautious and more optimistic.

Apparently the new album has leaked. I haven't listened yet because I'm lazy and don't feel like downloading it, when it will be available streaming soon. Have any of you had a listen yet? Any thoughts?

Also, they just announced that they plan on releasing a follow-up album very soon.

Modest Mouse will release Strangers to Ourselves, their first new studio album since 2007, on March 17. But the band is apparently already at work on a follow up, as singer Isaac Brock revealed in an interview with HMV (via Stereogum). "I’m pretty far along with the next one as it is," he said in a published excerpt. "I went in to making this one with two records in mind."

I don't really do leaks, but I've read some forums and a lot of people seem to like it, at least as much as WWDBTSES.

Not to hijack the thread, but I know you are a Sufjan fan as well and apparently that has linked, and it is getting a ton of praise. Supposedly really dark and moving.

Haha, that's funny because I found the leak last night for Sufjan. I just couldn't wait. I'm listening to it now. "Dark and moving" is a perfect description. It's easily the most stripped down album he's made.

New album available everywhere now, including spotify.

I've been enjoying it after several listens. A lot of the songs that weren't released are surprisingly better than the ones that were released. Sugar Boats stands out so far. Pistol reminds me of Tiny Cities Made of Ashes.
