Ever wonder why Aimpoint sights are so expensive, so durable, so robust, and so simple? Here's a small video series with Larry Vickers where he builds his own Aimpoint PRO. It really makes you respect the quality and durability of the sight.

Building an Aimpoit (Part 1)

Follow the rest of the parts through.

I thought this was very interesting, especially the engineer in me.

Was just about to link this last night. I was impressed by their claims to having such a clean atmosphere that they do not need to nitrogen purge. I really enjoyed the series and it truly justifies the price point.

+1

The technology and build process is truly a science there.

I'd like to see him do the same thing at EOtech to compare each process. Granted, the EOtech is different in that it uses a laser rather than an LED and it's an open holographic sight as opposed to a tubular LED one.

Now I'm going to be late for work. Good video though.

Damn you. I was supposed to get to work this morning and do stuff. Ended up watching all the parts.
