I think we all agree that KV, Lewis, Byrd, and Bush will be on the team. I doubt they give up on SJB this quick. But what about guys like Ball, White, Robinson, and Dixon. Who, if any, do you see back?

I also think Sunseri is back since he gives value on ST

you know at times Patrick Robinson played good ball this year.

he's got all the ability but maybe just not enough confidence?

just real inconsistent.

but coming off a major knee injury I thought he did okay. I think he settled in at the nickel when he looked his best.

If we're lucky half of them are gone(Dixon, SJB, Ball, Torrance, White).

I think SJB at least gets one more chance.

I thought Pierre Warren played good for a UDFA rookie. I like him after Byrd, Vacarro, and Bush.

keeping PRob at minimum is not a bad value (take away the first two games and he was top 10 in PFF rating and shown a lot of ball hawking skills late), getting rid of Bush with 0 dead money is something on my high probability list, and SJB was marked as a red-shirt year by the FO so seeing what he can do against these bigger receivers would be nice.

I would like to keep Bush but I don't think we will be able to....I think we kept him at like $1.5M last year and I think Atlanta had actually signed him to an offer sheet.....He didn't do anything this past year to deserve less money or attraction from other teams, so I don't think we'll be able to fork up the money for someone who would not be in the starting lineup every week, especially if we keep White around and move him to safety

I think for safeties we go in with:
Vaccaro
Byrd
Sunseri ST's guy
Warren-Needs to learn to wrap up, but he has a nose for the ball and creates turnovers and can contribute to ST's
White-Maybe safety is where he belongs
maybe Ball, he didn't do bad this past year so another year of growth should do him good

CB's we'll go in with Lewis
Dixon, did okay as a UDFA, should only get better
Frederick did good enough to bring back to compete
And draft more and get at least 1 vet FA

He's under contract.

$1.95 million, $0 in dead money

Crazy that he was cut and not even put on the PS. I'd like to see him back next year.

He was at first, then he was cut from the PS. After that Minnesota signed him to theirs, then we signed him to our 53. I agree though, that it's crazy that we thought we wasn't even good enough for the Practice Squad at one point. I'm not sure what other positions that you sacrifice a spot at next season, but he's shown that he deserves a spot on the 53. Maybe they cut Bush to save some desperately needed money, although I'd like to keep him around.

Lewis at #1
FA at #2
PRob at #3

And a sh!t load of competition for 4-5 from on hand and from draft.

Safeties seem set same as last year except I hope they find a spot for Warren on the 53 this time.

I also think Dennis Allen will be a big help to the secondary as well.

Nice, I thought we had only signed him to a 1yr deal last year. Well that's good to know

You can only do the same thing over and over and over before you become clinically insane.

But, the Saints will probably keep him on the roster because of their cap situation and he "knows" the defense.

Saying you want to get rid of SJB is like saying you want to return something before you even open it. He has a lot of potential he is just raw..

Also I really am not sure what we will do at DB. I believe it is our biggest need. Having a Solid 2 at cornet would really help the Defense. I would like to see us grab one through FA. And use the draft for something like a OT.

Except in SJB's case the something you got was a dripping brown bag that smelled like dog shite. Yeah you haven't opened it to make sure but you've got a pretty bad feeling about it.
