Jones, who was a key contributor to Karr’s first LHSAA state championship team as a player in 1993 and was a standout at linebacker and cornerback for Louisiana-Monroe (1995-199), is stepping down to pursue other opportunities at the college level. He guided Karr -- a consistent power in Class 4A -- to the 2013 state title game (lost to East Jefferson) and a quarterfinal appearance in 2014, when the Cougars lost to eventual state champion Neville.
