I was browsing around The Business Insider website and noticed a title "Why Bill Nye is Pissed Off about Deflategate." At what point did he become the go to science correspondent? Why does anyone really care what Bill Nye has to say on the topic? It's almost like he became popular again in the last year or so

Well that's kind of the point, I can't when he is now invading news websites I regularly frequent.

Until this thread I had not seen or heard his name mentioned in about 15 years.

He's sort of become a internet celebrity over the last year.

I don't mind it as he adds some valuable science insight into a lot of conversation.

so you're being forced to click on the article about him?

or is a simple headline you glanced over just twisting your panties so tight?

It's just strange how he has managed to become relevant again. He's been hitting up all the big news outlets as well

Someone else explained the reason behind this phenomenon succinctly a few days ago, but basically it boils down to millenials being stupid assholes.

I've seen him referenced as some sort of science authority a couple times the last couple of years. I think he did this debate about evolution or some such thing. According to wiki he has a BS in Mechanical Engineering. It's kind of funny that people think of him as some authority figure just because he was a kids' television personality. That's how the public thinks though I guess.

You're an idiot if you think that millennials are the reason this dead horse has been beaten over and over during the last two weeks.
