According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Falcons could end up finding themselves in a bit of hot water with the league due to the fact that they may have been piping in the noise from the crowd for at least the past two seasons.
quote:
Atlanta has been accused of piping in the noise while the opposing team was huddling, trying to call its play. Some around the league have argued that silent counts have rendered crowd noise more irrelevant, and it's difficult to discern how much of an advantage it gave the Falcons.
The Falcons went 3-5 at the Georgia Dome this season and were blown out there by the Panthers, 34-3, in Week 17 with the NFC South Division title on the line.
quote:
As far as a potential punishment for the Falcons, should this be found out to have happened, there is a chance that the team could lose a draft pick for the transgression. Also, the league could levy a fine against them.
The most recent case of piped-in crowd noise being a potential issue was just this past season where the Indianapolis Colts were accused of making Lucas Oil Stadium a little louder than it really appears to be. However, nothing from those accusations ever came to fruition.
But, it appears that the Falcons may have been caught red-handed.

Heard that too. No news anywhere online yet, though.

I feel like they have been doing this for years. At least when I went a few times about 4 years ago, I sat next to the speakers and you could hear crowd noise out of it and barely anyone around me was yelling. I had always wondered about this. It still didn't get loud.

Well when you only draw about 10,000 falcons fans a game what do you expect?
I hear they're upgrading their sound system in the new nest ala the Seahawks.
RISE UP...........the speakers that is!

I always thought something was fishy when watching on TV it sounded like the crowd was bigger than it looked.

Goodel installed the speakers. I hear they are going to get an extra first round pick in April.

Adam must get paid by the word.
If his house were on fire, he'd call 911 and say:
"According to several substantiated first-hand reports, it could be that there may be some type of what appears to be an incendiary event occurring at what has normally been associated being a single-family residence located at the municpal address of 123 Elm Street in the planned unit development of Glenwood Subdivision, phase two-b, the village of New Hebron, Conneticut."

So do we think this is a distraction from the golden boys, Belichick and Brady?

Not exactly a conspiracy.
It's well known that the media is strategic in its release of info.

I'm not saying you're wrong.. But you're insinuating the NFL and media are conspiring to cover for deflate gate or whatever. In all honestly I wouldn't put it past that piece of shite commissioner.
ETA: let's not get caught up in the Patriots, let's laugh at how shitty the Falcons must be to have to resort to faking crowd enthusiasm
