Looking for help . A friend's Grandfather passed and left her a lot of taxidermy . He was a trophy hunter and had all kinds of animals . I've seen pics of a 7 foot tall Grizzly Bear , a beautiful Bull Moose , a monster Cape Buffalo , an Elk that probably scores well over 300 . Hard to tell looking at the pics she had . He also has a lot of other African species Gazelles , Black Buck , etc , etc . He also had a ton of hunting and other guns that she will be interested in selling at some point . Right now we just need to get an idea what some of this stuff might sell for . Hell , I would think the Grizzly would go for 8-10 grand . I want either the Moose or the Buffalo if I can find a wall in my house big enough .

Depends what kind of shape they are in and how old.
My cousin actually brokers these sort of things. Email me at kingranchtd at gmail. I'll get you in touch with him.

Not near as much as you are thinking, those are one mans trophies, worth a fortune to him, not so much for another man
Keep us updated when tall are ready to liquidate the guns etc

I'm sure the market is pretty narrow for it. Cabela's would have bought it all for a reasonable price had the timing been right.
The guns on the other hand will probably be worth a lot if he was a Safari hunter

Just this week, a guy I know that had 5 deer mounted that each scored over 300 inches (obviously high fence hunt) with some awesome mounts including 2 full size fighting each other and he called cabelas and wanted to GIVE them to cabelas , and they declined.... They are less than a year old

The guns probably aren't worth much cause they are old and antiquated. I'll give her $50 a piece for each rifle.

Ill give her $1500 for the whole lot site unseen.

Another issue is logistics . He lived in Philadelphia . They will have to rent a U haul to bring it to Texas . An estate sell is more logical but keep the guns and artifacts that he collected . I'll keep y'all informed

My cousin deals with these types of logistical issues all the time with taxidermy. My email is posted if you want a real solution.

Thanks King . We'll have to bring back to Austin . I'll be talking to her and let you know what she decides .

I don't think there is a lot fo market for that kind of thing...
kind of strikes me as odd that something that is so important to one person is basically meaningless to another...found the same to be true with some of my relatives' mounts...

If you need someone to broker the guns I can handle it. sales@sulzerfirearms.com

depending on the actual animals involved, some species require a CITES tag to legally sell
