My only personal experience with North LA is living in Monroe when I was a student at NLU. I'm sure that's NOT a fair way to judge all of north LA

South-once you start seeing pine trees & red dirt; culture, food,
& anything Cajun is gone. North Louisiana may as well be Texas or Arkansas.
