I've yet to meet a BBT fan that questioned my intelligence as the reason that I don't enjoy the show.

I like the show. I have an autistic young adult child and the first time we saw the show, we thought, OMG, that is our life. it was one of the ones where Leonard does all kinds of ridiculous crap to keep Sheldon from getting upset. Sheldon is the first autistic character on tv who isn't nonverbal and rocking.

I stopped watching a show about geniuses because the dialogue and jokes were so darn stupid.

Its a bad show where mediocre writers and mediocre actors are making a ton of money because America craves mediocrity.

The McCarthys (I think this is their name) with Roseannes TV sister as the mom, is awful. If that POS show lasts I will be surprised.

I watched "Mike & Molly" and compared to other sitcoms out there- like "The MOM" -another horrible waste- it's not bad at all.

In 10,000 years, after all life has been extinguished on this planet, if the only remnants of our time here is a collection of network sitcoms, then any species stumbling upon this evidence will conclude we were a collection of simpletons.

I don't think anyone is saying this about any program on the CBS Network.

Isn't this the go-to response for anybody who doesn't like *insert comedy here*?

No. Of course not.
I love the show. The comedy gives me laugh out loud moments that few sitcoms do.
The choice of character professions to me is a refreshing change. Not only the departure from the standard fare but for those who may have no to little knowledge of the subjects a kind of humorous introduction, and yeah learn a little something of some of the theories, and perhaps spark a curiosity that would lead to study or perhaps engage in a conversation. That's a wonderful possibility that maybe you're missing.

I like science and always have so it's a plus for me but I don't see that as necessary for liking the show, or being into video games, etc., though, another plus for me.

It doesn't matter to me either that for example, I think it was the dual particle/wave theory of light in one of the episodes that was presented as a Sheldon Cooper revelation, was not a new insight at all. I love that Einstein, Bohr, Schrodinger, Peter Higgs and so many others work is touched upon.
Schrodinger's cat is a good example, that was funny and may have introduced this idea to millions that may not have heard it or others recall a back in class memory of something that was at one point quite thought provoking.

Wouldn't you rather a funny argument between string theory and loop quantum gravity than the usual tired comic conflicts.
There's the personalities as well; the humor's balanced, and there's no political correctness point constantly being driven which I also find refreshing.

Yeah, true. I appreciated that as well.

"Big Bang Theory" is a show that relies also on a lot of humor that builds on itself. A ton of inside jokes that are based on previous things that happen in the show. Very good job at maintaining continuity throughout the show, nothing really gets forgotten or set aside.

If you don't find it funny it's because you really aren't smart enough to remember past events of the show and aren't smart enough to keep up.

I tell them that if they don't like the show they shouldn't watch it.

I don't understand the inordinate amount of time that people take to try to get others to watch what they like and to stop watching what they don't.

There are literally hundreds of channels with 24/7 programming. If you don't like something find another show.

But, at the same time, let me enjoy what I enjoy and I will do the same for you.

HAHA he called sex coitus again!! Listen to the way those guys talk about video games and comics, what goofy nerds!! Just doesn't do it for me.

Literally the most retarded thing I have ever read about the show. No one watches it to see Sheldon say coitus.

I watch it because the character interaction is hysterical to me. Mainly Raj and Howard.

And to answer your question, no the show isn't too smart enough for some people... The humor isn't for some people, it happens.

And I have never seen a Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Hobbit... I've only seen 1 Stars Trek movie... So it has nothing to do with comics and nerd stuff with me.
