96% on 247 said he'd go elsewhere, this is why you need to keep an open eye on recruiting, huge win for Grimes

In terms of what will boil down to facts, yes the CBs were wrong on this one but if you dig deeper into it, they actually pegged it correctly. He wanted Bama and they turned him away. Auburn insiders say they would've taken him but Barrow(a national guy that isn't good IMO) says different. I'll side with the Auburn guys on that but I'm also siding with the Bama insiders on the fact that they told him they couldn't take him. Bamas insiders are money. So while in the end the CB got it wrong, based on other factors they had it right. Yet another reason the CB is meaningless. Its just for clicks. Brilliant business move by247

The only reason bama insiders are money is because Nick gets 85% of the guys he wants. But to say that bama didn't want him is a crock of $#!+. Its funny how anyone they don't land becomes someone they didn't want. Quite a few grey shirts over there

It's hard to believe that Alabama wouldn't have found a way to fit him in the class, so I don't put too much stock in what was being said on that front. However, it's obvious that LSU appealed more to Valentine-Okeke than the others so there had to be some factors, but it may have just been the pursuit of Jeff Grimes and Les Miles that trumped the others efforts.

Duckie AKA Jimmy D Smith was just on 100.3FM talking about this very thing.

Yes, I recall in the last few days a few posters saying that Grimes had not been doing his share of top notch recruiting to match results of the other coaches, but with this latest commit and the other OL's already on board, he has done an outstanding job so far in filling this 2015 class with quality OL.

Yes he has.... Brown and KeKe are very good prospects, to go with 2 very good guards. Will match them with anyone. Then we lost another late in the game and still found quality. Can't wait to see how we end on the DL and next years haul. Coach O is going to piss off some people with how relentless he is. No more playing small ball with our front seven.

Actually, I must say I am sorry for picking on Jimmy. At least his information is free. It's the pay-sites that dropped the "BALL" on this one. Money well spent.

The pay sites used to be clutch and the good recruit insiders were right way more than they were wrong. Different era now. These kids know who they are and know they will get their intentions out. They know to be either guarded or to flat out lie if they want their commitment to be a surprise. Only thing those site are good for is additional evaluations and a database of recruit information. If you are paying to know where these guys are going, you are wasting your money.

All that said, I hope Jimmy is right with his predictions plus Okeke. I wouldn't wear pants for weeks.

And the pattern I've noticed also is that the "analysts" with ties are incredibly biased. Seriously does Taylor Hamm EVER pick a guy NOT to attend A&M. Same with Bobby Burton etc. One reason IMO the LSU CB predictions are low is that the Sonnys and the Sheas who contribute aren't nearly as active with LSU predictions as some of the others are to their schools. Add that in to your points and yeah, their predictions + 50 cents will buy you a small coffee.

They make people feel all nice and cozy all year round and then disappoints them one day a year. Sonny and Shea, despite their recent downswing of accurate info, are at least honest with the information they are given. They are good guys who bust their asses in the recruiting business, but they are fighting a losing battle with today's kids.

I agree. There is really zero scientific empirical element to this. Its a 17, 18 or 19 year old human making a decision which they have the right to change their mind as many times as they want until Feb 4th. They really should do away with the Crystal ball.
