I used to work in the Shaw corporate office a about 6 years ago and someone (probably someone who's SO, cousin, BIL, etc worked for Mello Joy) decided to switch from the office supplies from CC to MJ. I thought there was going to be a revolt. That stuff was so bitter, you couldn't drink it unless it was drowned in cream and sugar. In fact, they came around and took the remaining CC that was left over because no one was drinking the MJ supply.

I've had mellow joy a few times and thought it was good. Not a fan of the packaging. The yellow makes me think pee... Wish they would do a little rebranding. Maybe a stripe of the yellow instead of the entire bag being yellow. But this thread isn't about design... Got that off my back lol.
One of my fave coffees is Eight O'clock coffee.

I don't get the love for Community Coffee.

Not saying it's the best but it's certainly leaps and bounds above MJ.

PJs is definitely the best Louisiana roaster IMHO.

The New Orleans Roast Southern Pecan is quite delicious.

No, no, no. Not even close. What others have you tried? I'm not talking mass market like Community or Mello Joy. We've got a slew of small batch roasters turning out superior stuff.

And that flavored shite doesn't count.

Orleans Coffee Exchange is my go to, the Italia espresso roast is my "house coffee".
French Truck
New Orleans Roasters
Abita Roasting Co o. The Northshore
Coast Roast in Long Beach, MS
Reve in Lafayette
HiVolt coffeehouse in NOLA brews & sells CounterCulture (Durham, NC)
Google will get you to their websites, that's just a short list of locals to kick you off.

Caveat: I'm talking whole bean here, I don't ever buy preground (unless you count nespresso pods, lol)
