Our 6 year old is really freaking us out. Screams out in the middle of the night. Eyes wide open talking but not making sense, gets up walks around with eyes wide open. But is really completely out of it.
Doc says kid will grow out of it but it's been almost a year.
Anyone have experience with this?

Is there a chance the kid walked in on you and Lady Old Sarge en flagrante? I can't even type that without getting a little creeped out.

After poking around a bit online, it's most likely PTSD? Did your son serve in the military?

Sounds like PTSD

Yes, kinda. Ours would have night terrors. Worried myself sick trying to figure out if she was misinterpreting something from us that made her scared or something at school, etc. She eventually stopped.
I would walk in my sleep when in HS. In college, on two occasions, I dreamed the walls were closing in. One time I woke up standing up in my bed screaming. I roomed with a guy who rodeoed and played football for McNeese. He heard me screaming and hauled arse out of our trailer.

My kid had night terrors. He grew out of it and yours will too.

My bud in college did this, never grew out of it, but dealt with it just fine.

Dealt with a few night terrors with jr. Freaky shite. Not a thing you can do but ride it out.

He didn't scream, but our son got out of bed one night, walked down the stairs, into our room, climbed on the bed, and asked for cup of Earl gray.
He's only 6 months old, though, so we gave him chamomile and told him to deal with it.

My brother used to. He grew out of them.

Oh, gotcha. I googled a bit more, and it could be a few things. Check her hands and feet for any possible signs of stigmata. If the reading comes back negative, keep her away from any sort of combination of senior prom and pigs blood

My two year old did this for about a month. Would start screaming like nothing I've heard from him before. Very freaky. He would sit up and scream and it looked like he was reaching for something/someone. Luckily it just stopped for now. I hope it doesn't come back.

Wrong. Apparently I still yell out in my sleep. I've had a total of 5 nightmares in the past 10 years though. I also sleep dance.

Well, that's just stupid. How does one "grow out of" being possessed by the Devil?
