Who is shooting them? It's some expensive arse shite. Hevishot goose all the way up to $4.25ish a shot. It's some great stuff, I've used it before, but is it worth it at 10x the cost in some cases?

Hevishot

Is some good stuff. Killed a hog with it last year during turkey season at 50 yds. Was Hevishot blend 5,6,7, in 3.5". Shot him in the head and he dropped dead as a hammer. That stuff is about $6/pop but worth it. I know the guys that shoot the TSS love it, but they are about $9-10/pop. If I was just trying to kill a couple specs each day I'd shoot the non-tox stuff. Wouldn't take it on a late-season no-limit hunt though.

That's my thought. I only need to shoot what 2-4 times to get my limit of specs, which is what I mainly hunt. Cheap steel did fine but there were a couple times follow up shots were needed

Yeah, I'd shoot the good stuff if I was only going to kill a pair of geese. It patterns so well too.

I'll echo the shooting specks with that stuff. Couple times this year I heard the shot hit the bird and it was obviously crippled but didn't fall. That hevi stuff will break trough the breast bone. Almost gotta shoot for the wings past about 50 yards if you are shooting one of those extremely tight waterfowl specific chokes and steel.

Might get a box for conservation to test it out on some of those white bastards

Buddy and I were both shooting Hevi Steel in KS and the geese had no chance. 1500fps 3" #2 and 3" BB

I shoot hevi metal #3s at ducks (which I think is less dense than hevi steel) when I can afford it/my girlfriend buys me cases for Christmas, and I can without a doubt say there is a noticeable difference between that and the cheap shells I shoot when I can't afford it and she doesn't buy me cases for Christmas. That stuff is legit.

I can also second what the earlier post said about hogs. My friend shoots hogs with tungsten, which I think is like 12 grams/c3, and he drops them dead.
