Well I meant the west in general. Gorgeous scenery in Utah, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon. A wide variety of climates to make anyone happy...some only a matter of driving a couple hours to get to a different climate.

The north is awesome. Better lawns, better architecture, more appreciative women, real seasons, higher elevation, hash browns for supper with steak, snow, skiing etc.
Oh, and best of all, SMARTER PEOPLE. I might just move.

All this. You mentioned real seasons. The weather in the Deep South just sucks. One of my main issues with the region. I'll take 40 days of snow to avoid 150 days above 85 degrees.

Huh?

And it's called "dinner" up north.

Move to Miami then. Only major city in the continental US to never reach 100 degrees the past 50+ years

It is snowing right now here , but he is right we only get a few snows a year.

I make more money on average, but cost of living here is WAY more expensive.

Yeah but 88 degrees with 100% humidity is just as miserable.

Humidity sucks. Living in a low humidity area is awesome. Good hair days everyday!

frick that; I love the heat, and I hate the cold. I wish I never had to deal weather below fifty.

Though, where I come from, a month or two of the year brings temperatures in the teens or below, often seeing long stretches with wind-chills below zero.

When it's super hot, you just sweat a little and get tired quicker. When it is thirty below zero, that shite fricking hurts.

Yeah, but I just can't let go of the word "supper."

fwiw, my experiences come from a few months spent in east Ohio and North Dakota, which I wouldn't consider northern, but midwestern. In North Dakota any given form of a potato is on the menu around the clock.

I love Ohio.

being from the midwest I consider it different from the "north". North I think of northeastern, new england area..ppl from the midwest are generally nicer like ppl from the south, the cities are cleaner.. the cold weather just sucks

Biggest reason for me

Chicago in the winter still beats all but maybe five cities in America as far as fun/things to do/etc, and those are NYC and the West Coast. It's the best place on earth in the summer.

If you're young, not married, and gainfully employed, the Northern cities are lightyears better than anything in the South.

The North is above the Mason-Dixon Line, out to the edge of the Great Plains.

the general unfriendliness of a lot of people

This is said so much, but I honestly don't see it.

I think people mistake being in a rush and constantly being busy as being unfriendly.

Life is fast in the bigger metro areas up North, but if you go outside of those areas you will find slower life and "friendlier" people.

And you can just hang out by a pool or sip margaritas on a patio with a mister somewhere to cool off. Or wear less clothing.

Hope I never experience that. Coldest it gets here might be in the upper 20s at night for maybe 2 nights a year and everyone is freaking out about a freeze warning. Yesterday it was 80 degrees outside and sunny. Perfect winter weather imo
