because people have no idea what they are talking about. it's becoming quite comical.

No doubt. Umm aTm is 13-5 and 4-2 in the SEC just like us! Like I said earlier. I think 6 teams will come out of the SEC this year: Kentucky, LSU, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee and aTm.

and now georgia is getting added to that. they have a comparable record to lsu, are higher in espn rpi and have an insanely higher sos. that was a very respectable win.

I think people are more upset about how we lost that one than actually losing to A&M. Given our lead and playing at home, it's one we really should've won. Mizzou and Clemson are the really bad ones.

There an insider article on ESPN about how the SEC is changing its culture from a Football conference to Football and Basketball. Florida's class is 8th, LSU 6th, and Kentucky 1st. The tide is turning. It's great to be an LSU Basketball fan. Games at the PMAC were great when I went to LSU. Big Baby and Tyrus Thomas. I want that place rocking again!

oh, i totally get that. i was about to rip my seat up at the PMAC watching that collapse.

in the grand scheme of things though, the A&M loss won't be one to keep us from the tournament. we are in a great position. it's time to take advantage of it.

Definitely. Our next 4 games are all very winnable. If we can win them all leading up to Kentucky, we'll be in great shape.

This team could def beat UK. Calipari hates playing zone D so LSU has that going for them. Mickey and Martin need a touch every possession.

no way in hell that happens at this point.

After the last several seasons of being mediocrity (or worse), the SEC is finally making serious waves in round ball. Coaching has vastly improved, and recruiting has really been picking up.

that said, 4 teams in is a huge jump in the right direction. 5-6 teams in would be a big overachievement.

Those 10 votes are probably all first place votes though....

It doesn't work that way. We got 10 points, not necessarily 10 votes. A first-place vote is worth 25 points, on down to a 25th-place vote which is worth 1. So it could be one person voting us 16th, or 10 voting us 25th, or some combination in between.

No question, but we are not a top 25 team yet.

I am not being a 'negatiger" It is just a fact. However, we are showing the potential to get there. Basketball is like baseball more than football in respect to the fact that Podunk U and Slippery Rock teacher's college can field a team and be good. LSU is taking the right steps, chill out with the ranking crap. None of it matters.

Win and Get IN!!

I like the underdog role more anyways. Being ranked is awesome, obviously, but with a team that's this talented it reminds me of Baylor back in 2010 when they made their first run to the Elite 8. Loads of talent, but no one knew it other than the students and small fan base. As long as they keep winning they'll be fine. All that matters is that you get into the big dance.

Also, Texas a&m got 2 votes. I really don't think they would be considered a bad loss for our tournament resume.

Technically it's not since they have a higher RPI than LSU. However, the reality of blowing a 13 point 2nd half lead gives credence to the belief that LSU is too inconsistent at this point to deserve a higher ranking. Win the next 4 and they'll be in the top 25 when UK comes a'callin'.
