Okay, I know we are not quite a top 25 team just yet, but we are oh so close! I just don't understand what the AP voters are seeing! Anytime you can go into Florida and Vanderbilt and come on with Wins that's a great week! Even with a down SEC. Joe Lunardi says only 3-4 teams will come out of the conference this year but I believe it will 5 at least before the end of the year. I just can't believe a team like Oklahoma is 12-7 and still in the top 25. I know they have losses against ranked teams but those losses were blowouts! We need to sweep these next two games and put LSU back on the map!

We need to define ourselves in the SEC for a few more games then we'll be around.

Losing to aTm and Mizzou will do that. Voters don't trust this team just yet, but if we keep winning our next few games, we'll get there.

LSU RPI 37. Just make the NCAA tourney. 12-6 SEC + 1 in SEC tourney should do it.

Just wait till LSU upsets Kentucky in two weeks. Dickie V will be blowing his wad big time.

Also, Texas a&m got 2 votes. I really don't think they would be considered a bad loss for our tournament resume.

Umm...maybe exactly what you are?

If the AP voters think exactly what you (and I) do--namely, that LSU is good, probably top 30-35, but not yet meriting a top-25 ranking--then we shouldn't be getting many votes. I'm not really sure what your gripe is.

My gripe is the number of votes, 10 really? 15-4 gets you 10 votes? Thats pathetic, yet you have multiple 4-5 loss teams or more in the top 25. I don't expect us to be in the top 25 but I do expect more votes. 10 is disrespectful especially since we have a top 25 win on the road! WV is top ten now. I just think we should be closer to the cusp.

You know how the polling system works right? A voter has to think we are in the top 25 in order for us to get any votes at all. If we shouldn't be in the top 25 then its understandable we were left off a lot of voter's ballots.

LSU is about to have two more 2-0 weeks in a row with South Carolina and @Mississippi State then Auburn and Alabama to be 19-4. They'll jump into the polls the week of the Kentucky game.

On another note it's extremely hard to break into the top 25 polls in basketball because there's so many teams and the voters have extreme biases for the big names.

Yes, I know. I just think the AP voters are blind. The fact that 18 more people thought Georgia deserved to be in top 25 shows their ignorance.

We lost to 2 God awful teams and should have lost to Georgia. If we win the next 4 we'll be ranked. Right now this team needs to be consistent and play smart basketball

maybe you do not understand what the number 10 means.
its NOT number of votes.

It may mean that ONE person voted LSU #10.

It may mean that TEN people voted LSU #25.

the 10 points is cumulative, with first place being 25 points and 25th place being one point.

That 10 could be two 4's (21st place) and one 2 (24th place).

in the USA today coaches poll, LSU has 6 points. 6 votes for #25 or maybe two votes for #23.

check out Sagarin. he has all 300+ teams sorted by some algorithms of his.
LSU is worth 82 points in his system. They are #47 in the nation.
NUMBER FORTY SEVEN. NOT 25.

LOOK AT THE TWO DOZEN TEAMS SAGARIN RATES AHEAD OF LSU, teams that are also NOT in the Sagarin top 25.

Northern Iowa is 17-2. Dayton is 16-3. big dogs in little conferences. try some of that on the road.
The Northern Iowa fans are in a FRENZY during the game.
The Dayton fans cheer in unison.
For Northern Iowa and Dayton, basketball is their LSU football.

I hope LSU continues its rise.
Therefore, I hope LSU does not meet Northern Iowa in the first round of the NCAAs.

Other than W.V. which other win is significant (UGA) please. The four losses aren't getting the Tigers much help either. LSU has the potential to beat many teams ahead of them...let it play out.

the A&M loss isn't as bad as people originally thought. their RPI is 35, two above us. Clemson and Missouri are the only bad losses we have.
