This is all I was saying:

The lack of offense over the last few years has made the game very tough to watch.

Kudos for navigating the Internet at such a young age, and don't fret, this will be but a mere blip on the radar even as early as when you become a toddler.

its going to ruin the game.

its almost as dumb as the MLB proposal to disallow defenders to position to one side of the field against a dead pull hitter.

You will not be able to throw breaking balls the way kids grew up learning how to do. it is the stupidest thing I have heard of in a few months of a life on planet earth.

pathetic.

Now that you cannot grip the baseball, all you will be able to do is learn a change up and throw a knuckleball. Knuckle ball coaches will be at a premium.

Lmao players that enter the big leagues don't have much trouble adjusting to the lowered seams. Holy cow that was an awful post. Pitchers velocities will be slightly up as well.

Supposed to cut down on the drag. Those long drives that die on the warning track will leave the park now.

Home runs are nice, but I'll be most excited when a ball that is hammered into the gap is not run down. The problem wasn't a lack of HRs IMO. The problem was that pitchers were too often let off the hook when the batter put a good swing on the ball.

Those minor league and major league pitchers must really struggle getting movement on pitches.

Less movement on pitches + further carry = slightly more offense.

At Alex Box it will make a difference. It won't be noticeable in Omaha.

Will the seams help base running? That seems to be a problem

I just can't believe that changing the seams will make enough difference to notice...I'll believe it when I see it...

sorry but you're way wrong. of the several things that really impact hitting a baseball, the seams are HUGE. these days, the pitchers make the ball dance and this skill would not be possible without seams on the ball. the bigger the seam the easier it is for a picher to put spin on the ball.

imo, the size of the strike zone and the height of the mound are the only two factors that have more impact on how much offense will be generated.

Plus, more difficult to throw breaking balls.

This. The ball will carry better and go farther, but the real difference will be the pitching. ERA's are about to go up

You're forgetting about the most important component of hitting a baseball: the bats. I highly doubt that we see an increase of more than 5-10% in offensive production as long as they're still swinging those shite BBCOR bats.

Even though the seams are lower, they'll still be throwing high quality collegiate grade tacky leather baseballs with solid seams which won't really change the effectiveness of breaking balls enough to have a noticeable difference on the game.

Fans are setting themselves up for disappointment if they think that the gorilla ball era is going to make a comeback just because of a .015" difference in seam height. As much as I wish it wasn't the case, college baseball's going to stay pretty boring unless a miracle happens and they ramp the bat exit speed ratio back up to a little more dangerous level.

No one is saying that.

PM is impressed with the impact and so is anyone who's been to a scrimmage
