Kelvin Benjamin or Brandin Cooks?

Knowing what you know now, if you could have the 2014 draft over, would you take Kelvin Benjamin or Brandin Cooks? (Of course, for the sake of this argument, the choice is just between these two players with our 1st round pick.) I'll throw their stats in to help.
Kelvin Benjamin:
Receiving
16 games, 73 catches, 1008 yards, 9 TDs
Rushing
No stats.
Average game: 4.6 catches, 63 total yards, .57 TDs
Brandin Cooks:
Receiving
10 games, 53 catches, 550 yards, 3 TDs
Rushing
10 games, 7 carries, 73 yards, 1 TD
Average game: 5.3 catches, 62 total yards, .25 TD
On face value, it looks like Benjamin is the superior player and the right pick, but when looking at the averages per game, Cooks holds his own. Benjamin did score a lot more TDs but he was also targeted 146 times as the only legit WR at Carolina, while Cooks was often a check down option. I guess I could go either way on this, but I do think Cooks speed will eventually translate to more dynamic plays. (But I do admit, Benjamin would've made replacing Colston a whole lot easier...)

I'd take Benjamin. He's a legit #1 receiver.
Cooks the last few games was looking pretty damn good though and getting behind the defense

Benjamin played lights out this year, hats off to him. Cooks played on a team with a bit more options but should be great as well.

michael clayton or devery henderson.. which wr would you have wanted after their first year?

Don't think Kelvin would have gotten as many thrown his way on our team.
Two very different WR's.
Both look good so far and would want to see more before I jumped into this burning cauldron of debate!

i'd want michael clayton's talent and body with devery's mind and dedication to the craft.

Cooks.
I was a huge Cooks fan pre draft along with a lot of other people. He didn't do anything before the injury to make me think he won't be really good. Once his usage gets better, he has the potential to be an Antonio Brown type player IMO.

If I had to make another choice right now based on what we know, I'd take Benjamin in a heartbeat.
Obviously, things could change. But, I didn't think our offense was any better with Cooks than without it.

Any day
Benjamin is a great player but he had a lot of drops this year. That was something that was a knock on him coming in was that his hands weren't that great. He can make an incredible catch one play then drop the next three that hit him in the hands

It was a hell of a lot better when he played, but there are other factors there too.
Averaged 26.1 ppg with him; 22.8 without him.

Cooks is a better and more versatile WR. KB had an amazing rookie year, but that's mainly because he was asked to be the number 1 guy, and was easily the most targeted. When the ball is thrown your way that much you're bound to have good stats. He had A LOT of drops.

I'm pretty excited about the fact that, for all the reasons noted above, this is a pick 'em.

Not taking anything away from Benjamin and his talent, but a good portion of his stats came in garbage time/catch up play.

Kelvin seems healthier.

Both should be pro bowlers in the next 5-7 years. I'll take cooks but it's close. His speed is world class. For our offense we have big bodies in Graham and Colston already. My biggest gripe is having to lose a 3rd rounder when this was the deepest WR draft in years if not decades. But there's no telling how good or bad that pick would have been anyways

I wanted Cooks in the draft. Benjamin supposedly had a a terrible work ethic along with a weight problem. I was praying we wouldn't take him. Sometimes guys respond positively to people pointing out their flaws. I'd take the hard worker in Cooks again I think. With how bad the rest of our draft went, the loss of the 3rd was probably just one less player the front office would have had to cut.

Benjamin's stats were inflated to an extent because of the limited receiving options on the panthers. The ball was routinely forced to him. Overall, he looked pretty good and had some great catches, but he also had a ton of big drops. If he doesn't do a lot to work on his drop problem it will be a major issue for him going forward.
Cooks didn't show the playmaking ability that I was hoping for and thinking that we would get with him, but for the most part he seemed solid and reliable.
I think it's pretty close to a wash right now.

Benjamin had a great year, no doubt, but I really liked what I saw from Cooks this year

I would also add that the defenses he faced were primarily concerned with the running game; especially towards the end of the season.
I also think Cooks has more upside. As many have pointed out, Benjamin had a good year but had issues with drops (mainly resulting form concentration) and reportedly had a poor work ethic.
My vote would be for Cooks.
