Have you ever tried the scratch carrot cake before? We don't get one very often. My aunt says they're a bitch.

How in the hell did he get appointed as cook?

Cooks and Boatswain's Mates are like the bottom of the barrel when it comes to intelligence. They'll let any idiot be a cook.

They have recipe cards for EVERYTHING and if they follow the cards then everything is usually ok. It's when they go off on their own that you have to start worrying.

I only remember one cook that would make up stuff or add to the recipe cards and actually make the food taste better... and he got in trouble for it.

Hey Weights. I had to leave earlier and didn't respond.
Yes, I went to the bridal show. It was so.. not my scene

We ditched it by 2pm.

NoHo: Thank you! I landed what I think will be a defining career gig for me.

Like from scratch? The hardest part is pulling down the food processor to shred the carrots. They are easy. Baking is easy. I feel like it's science.

None of my creations ever look too pretty to eat though...just decent...they taste good though and that's what matters.

Same here.
We went at when it opened, left after 45 minutes.
Big waste of time..
Not to mention, I was probably 1 of 10 guys there among a bunch of bridzillas

Oh, sounds like you have all the modern tools. My aunt is old school - I doubt she owns a food processor.

Yep. My friend (the bride) is going to Iceland where she will be married and see the Northern Lights. So none of that crap really appealed to her.

I stuck out. I wore all black (lace up heeled boots and a leather biker jacket) and was drinking an aluminum bottle Miller Lite wrapped in a camouflage koozie from the Sammys booth. We ran into a group of girls who grew up with us that I haven't seen in years (we all went to the same Catholic school), and they were ALL engaged and there for the show. One said, "How crazy is it that we're all engaged and getting married and having babies soon?"
I just stared into the distance and sipped my Miller. Speak for yourself, chickadee.

If you didn't post the Miller Lite on the FBD thread, it doesn't count

I don't remember seeing someone dressed like that.
I had jeans and a white/blue button down shirt.
Very boring.
Some of those brides were so freaking annoying..
I wanted to start throwing elbows..

So are you going with her? Why did you go with her to bridal show if you aren't in her bridal party?

Only reason I went to one was for the free stuff. You can win a bunch of free stuff there. Oh and all the cake and samples they hand out as well
