Heading out tonight with the wife on a business trip to see the Phoenix Open, which has the potential for a SB trip as well...

No golf on this trip and looking to hit some good spots to eat/drink/420.

Staying at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort off N. Scottsdale Rd...may have access to a car

Any info would be appreciated..

Stop in for a drink at the Valley Ho hotel. Old scholl rat-pack style hotel.

Go to Old Town Scottsdale. Lots of bars, restaurants and shopping. Just drive south down Scottsdale road.

Also...because of the SB there is a bunch of stuff going on downtown Phoenix as well(fanfest).

Course anything SB related is gonna be a giant clusterfrick. Unless you have tickets to the game...I wouldn't want to go anywhere near that mess.

Old Town is really cool. Lots of fun places to go around there.

If you are looking for some outdoor fun, there is a big mountain there that is fun to hike up. Can't remember what it is called. When I was there, the amount of smoking hot females hiking up it in workout clothes was quite a nice surprise.

I'm pretty sure you can run into Jared Allen in AZ... if you do, be sure to get into a fight with him

You must be talking about either Camelback Mountain or Squaw Peak. Both very popular hikes out here with lots of traffic on it(including lots of women in yoga pants).

Yea, Camelback was it. Apparently the cool thing is to be hot, wear yoga pants and sports bra, and try to run up the thing.

I definitely didn't complain

2. old town tortilla factory- best patio in city, huge bar outside and great drinks. its southwestern food and everyone ive always taken there has had a blast.

Yea, it definitely wasn't that big of a hike. Really nice views though. Definitely something you can do pretty quickly.

thanks for the replies...the hikes seem like a good idea. Wish there was some better music this week. Any place with some blues?

It's def not a supereasy hike. It's 1.2 miles to the top and very steep in areas. If you are not in shape it will def challenge you. There are areas where you are basically just climbing a wall of boulders up to the top. Bring plenty of water and dress appropriately. Always see idiot tourists doing that hike in teva sandals and jeans and no water. Those are the ones that end up on the evening news being shown helicoptered off the mountain.

Arizona, what's not to like.

I feel sorry when people complain about booking a beach vacation and it rains the whole time. Just book a flight to Scottsdale, sure it might be hot arse hell, but at a resort pool, other stuff do, beats sitting on a rainy beach or inside a condo playing Poker, unless you're playing the other kind of Poker.

Just last week some dumb fricking moron decided to RIDE HIS SCOOTER up Camelback mountain. Yeah, guess how that decision panned out for him? Firefighters had to rescue his dumb arse.
