He's literally run the game into the ground.

PFT has been talking about the differences in the way Tags and Goodell has handled controversies
Basically Tags would tell the teams privately that the issue is being monitored and they need to get there shite together or they will get the frick stick
Goodell on the other hand sets traps to catch these teams doing it and makes it public so he gets all the "sheriff" glory, even if it compromises the image of the shield
Tags is probably just shaking his head at the way deflate gate is being handled

I would also say that I don't think every action goodell takes is in the best interest of the league...I think a lot of times it is in the best interest of his ego. I'm referring to player conduct policy mostly before people come in with the bountygate sour grapes BS.

also, PFT can suck a big fat dick
they suck at the tit, tow the line, then after the fact when it's a big echo chamber and the story is over, decide to criticize the league's handling of things
bountygate, spygate and deflategate, they were pounding the drum louder than anyone
florio is a master at summarizing facts, but his last great moment was the Vick case...he's a total sellout now

Definitely. Goodell has always wanted to be in the limelight; and viewed as a league innovator

Oh believe me I agree
The way they've handled the deflate gate situation is an embarrassing example of journalism

I just feel that after Goodell took over the NFL hasn't been the same. It's no longer the game it once was. I understand things change over time, but the NFL has become way too soft, and that sucks.

he makes Selig look credible

While he sucks, some of Selig's deficiencies are related to the fact that he presides over a lousy sport. Godell is taking an exciting, fan friendly sport is killing it piece by piece.

Done outside the scope of the CBA. It's definitely an ego trip.

I'm sure it makes Tagliabue's arse red to hear people talk about the success of the league under goodell, since it's basically all of his hard work.
Posted on 1/26/15 at 11:16 am to tigerpimpbot
that, and the fact that the NFL didn't have an image problem...goodell did. nobody knew or cared who the frick he was
anyone with a shred of common sense would have known that it was bad for the league...but I guess hindsight is 20/20
the 2004 NBA and NFL have completely exchanged public images.

Is Tagliabue trying to hurt Goodell's feelings?

Most people with any knowledge of the game and the NFL know Tags is a large factor behind the success of the league under Goodell. If they didn't know, it's becomes all the more obvious in every passing season.

no, but it must be hard being quiet while this guy fricks up everything you worked for, while taking credit for everything you accomplished
Tags should've been a first ballot HOF as a matter of formality

Tags is one of the best ever. The fact that his name was mentioned as seldom as it was is evidence of that.

They changed their tune on Bountygate as soon as the 50,000 pages of evidence were released as a 100 page powerpoint with 5-10 relevant slides
quote:
And yet even some owners have been frustrated by aspects of Goodell's tenure. Bob McNair, who owns the Houston Texans and is a Goodell supporter, told me that when Saints owner Tom Benson resigned from three league committees in 2013, Goodell's pay package and his handling of the Saints' Bountygate scandal were two reasons. "Tom's a green-eyeshade accountant of many years," McNair said. "He's just not happy about what happened."
Interesting
