They're putting 4 f300s on a 37' for huk gear right now. That'll be something.

You're talking about shock wave. That's another MGFC boat. Teak floor. That thing is fine. 40'

Does anyone else wonder how these guys actually make a living running these expensive arse boats?

Peace Marvel told me he breaks even at 100 trips a year. With weather and cancellations, it has to be tough to make a living wage, especially in a $300K boat that breaks a lot.

There are very few that actually make any money, from what I am told. One of the better guides down there has gotten out for the most part but has started another, more lucrative marine based business (Rimmer Covington).

He owns CLog Marine (in Gulfport), which supplies work boats and captains/crew all over the coast, but also still owns MGFC and a real nice lodge down in Venice. I think all of his captain run Freemans, but I'm not sure how much his 39 SeaVee 'works' though.

The oil spill set in motion all sorts of changes, but right before that they were having a big time of it.
