Love it when movies capture the feel of a place. Even the little scenes like them walking past the car dealership to the bar just felt very real. I liked the choice of music, and Giamatti's sad-sackery didn't bum me out like he does in almost every other role.
Unfortunately, it did for Merlot what Lebowski did for the Eagles.

I was bored to tears with this movie. I was told it was a "comedy." It was just a story about a wino and his smugness.

Ok that wasn't the story, but I couldn't really get past that. I just remember the main character being super unlikeable.
