that's a great draft pick, but when you have so much money tied up in a very few places, paying your TE that kind of money isn't prudent

I think there is/was an obvious rift between jimmy and drew as evidenced by their demeanor on the field.

so you believe in the philosophy of only living off of draft picks. you want us to be a farm team. gotya

I do

You can't resign everyone. I'd rather have 6 good players than 1 great TE

The patriots build through drafts, bargain FAs and the occasional big FA signing

They let big time players walk because they understand trade offs. Look at the guys they've let walk.

What kind of math is that?
6 to 1? Where did that come from?

Please for the love of all that is holy, can we get this right once and for all?

re-sign -signs a new contract to stay with current team.

resign -leaves voluntarily on own accord.

I don't feel the need to make such an obvious distinction. Were you confused? no, so it doesn't matter.

they sure as shite did...the difference being they have good players all over. They also let welker walk because you can't have it all. They let asante Samuel walk. They let almost everyone walk. They do well in FA, they don't re-----------------sign everyone. They make difficult choices.

you can dice it anyway you want, but paying graham while we have shite everywhere on defense, shite at WR, on the line, etc.

They get guys like ninkovich (who was a stud in the only game he started in 06 here, why we let him go is beyond me), blount, etc. They draft hightowers and edelmans

we try and pay everyone. At some point you need enough for good players elsewhere. They do, we don't.

it's tough though, because there is trust within the organization so they get guys like brady to restructure every year because they know they'll be taking care of...meanwhile, our contract negotiations (brees and graham) get ugly, and we don't extend them while under contract

in no world am I happy with a 7 win team that has a TE making $10 million per

That is complete hindsight.

We thought we had a top 5 defense when we made the decision, had drafted Cooks at WR, and our offensive line was set to be a strength.

Jimmy Graham has nothing to do with our offensive line issues. We're paying our guards top money

I don't understand how this board defends Keenan Lewis to the death but will take every opportunity to shite on Graham.
