Dial up internet...do you know anybody who uses it?

I have not known a single person to have dial up for nearly a decade. I did not know it was still available, but I just saw a commercial that mentioned it. Do you know anybody who still uses it?

the last person that I knew switched away from it several years ago...
there are still some older folks on fixed incomes who use it...glad it is still available to them...

Yep. Just got Directv a couple months ago.
The wife is on me to get internet so I will probably break down in the next couple months.

I do know many who do not have internet. Most of them do have smart phones, though.

Yep, there are tons of places within walking distance with free wifi as well if we do need a faster connection.

With Uverse at my office, I sometimes think that I am back on dial up.

I still have dial up at my house. I live in B.F.E. East Feliciana parish, where there is no cable. The phone lines are so old that the speed is limited to 28.8 kbps, or half of 56k.
I could get satellite DSL, but I find that not having broadband at home keeps me from wasting all my time on the net when I'm at home. I have a smartphone to do that with when I'm away from the house (don't get a cell signal there either). All I do on the internet at home is pay bills and read a couple message boards, like TD. They load relatively easy on a shitty connection.

Well I have uverse... So I basically use dial up...
