I know the owners would like to add games and produce more revenue each season. Obviously the players dont want this.

But to me, what the owners really want are additional weeks where the nfl is in the regular season and owning the tv ratings. Couldnt they do this by just giving each team an additional bye week(s)?

The scheduling & tv market seems to have no problem with a handful of teams being on bye each week.

don't forget two extra playoff games... i'd like them to go to 16 personally, so that half of the league gets in

Neaux thanks. We already have 8-8 wild cards in some years.

Just do away with a couple of preseason games and add two regular season games.

The regular season and playoff systems in the NFL are absolutely perfect. I don't want more games or a longer regular season, and I don't want more playoff teams. I think they have it exactly right.

I'd like this, plus give each team two byes during the year. Yes I know it would add a week to the season, but it would help with fatigue and allow healing of injuries. Each team would get a bye in weeks 4-8, and another one in weeks 9-13.
