Decided to stay home. I have plenty of meat and kinda figure if a buck made it this long in the season why tempt it. I'll let him grow and catch him next year.

32 degrees
In box over plot.
Looking to go 3-3 on Sunday mornings to close out my season. Trying to decide if this will be my last hunt of the year or give it one more go next weekend.

Good luck OB and stay safe.

Been in Pensacola all weekend visiting my folks and my new great neice. Spent most of the day pickin for antiques and furniture yesterday and may do a little more today before heading back to BR. I'm thinking Cracker Barrel on the way home.

Hope someone spills blood today.

Went down to the Calcasieu today, only fished for about two hours because my trolling motor batteries were weak. Only bite I got was a 3 pounder!

With scale for proof

I was surprised I got bit at all. Water was 48 degrees and had about 3 inches of visibility

Nice.

Went out yesterday to pull down stand, bait and set snares, scouting, do a little wiring on the dock. I started getting sick yesterday and it was full blown when I woke up this morning. I was supposed to build my gates today but felt too bad. Seems I always get sick when the weather is gorgeous.

ETA: forgot, I killed this bigbastard yesterday

He must of been a tough old bastard. I found an old wad underneath his skin when we cleaned him.

shot four whistling ducks in IB today...very slow...finished the last day of duck season closing up and moving blinds (school board property) and riding through the flooded woods...

sure was a strange season for me but I learned a lot on public land duck hunting...

I know you guys hunting the rice fields and the coastal areas did really well but what about working to get the season moved back a month?...

cheers to you duck hunters...

Neighbor just told me Henderson is covered up with ducks, most they've ever seen. I know I've been pounding them nearby.
