out Steele and Thompson....they were basically told to find other jobs....I mean, who would want to leave Alabama for anywhere else! Sounds like some excuse making for being po'd for Steele and Thompson leaving....

Finebaum is such a Saban dick sucker but...
I could see a similar thing at Bama as at LSU. Both teams realize they may need to have some fresh blood in the programs.

I don't think saban would hesitate one millisecond to fire anybody. both of these guys were great recruiters and position coaches only. if saban wanted new blood he would have pushed out smart.

That's such BS. Steele's name would have been out there a lot sooner if Saban had pushed him out. Saban said Steele handled it the correct way; that implies he didn't push Steele out.

Steele took a promotion for goodness sakes. He nearly left last year, before moving from DoPP to ILBs coach, to be the DC at Louisville. He's been looking to return to a coordinator role.
Thompson has worked for Saban on three different occasions. I think he was surprised by his decision to leave, but understood it. I wouldn't be surprised to see him return again. The door wasn't closed when he left for Tennessee in 2009 and then obviously returned in 2013. I don't think it is closed moving forward.

Orgeron was a grand slam hire tho.
As long as Steele doesn't poop himself on the sidelines, reels in a big time LB prospect from time-to-time, it may just work out.
