The morning paper in Tupelo,Ms today tells about LSU recruits that are at Ms. schools this weekend. The linebacker Leo Lewis from Brookhaven,Ms is at Ole Miss. CeCe Jefferson, five star DE from Florida, who this rant talked about yesterday, and DeMarkus Lodge of Texas are at Ole Miss. It's CeCe's 2nd visit. We'll see what happens. We had 2 coaches visit him this week.

Outside shot at Lewis and no shot with the others. The way I see it I can't see us filling up this year & I hope we don't just grab bodies. It'd be nice to free up a few for next year. Too late in the game to build relationships. Next year's class could be epic.

I'll just say I disagree with your assessment for LSU with all 3. We'll see on NSD won't we.

Edited post: I meant as the 3rd player....not Lodge but Peters. So I'm saying LSU has a good chance to sign Lewis, Peters, and Jefferson.

Just my opinion. Hope we get all 3 but at best we'll pull one. I'll gladly eat crow on signing day.

0% chance Demarcus Lodge signs with LSU

We might have a decent shot with Lewis but even Jimmy Smith said we have a less than 50% chance

I agree with you on Lodge...0%. I was putting Peters in there with CeCe Jefferson and Lewis. He didn't mention Peters, but I was talking about the visitors coming to LSU next weekend.

I think Lewis signs with LSU...think Peters signs with LSU...and I think LSU has just as good of a chance with Jefferson as anyone else.

Jefferson is Auburn or Florida.

A previous article said Dak Prescott hosted Leo Lewis at Ms. State last week. Everyone wants Lewis. We need linebackers bad, we'll see what happens. No mention of Peters.

Yeah, that is exactly what was said about T Bowers a couple of years ago also. Sorry, but I don't buy into the company line on everyone.

BTW, hope you saw where Daylon Mack is visiting Texas this weekend right? Please check me on my history will you. He committed to A&M....decommitted, then names LSU, TCU, and Texas as his finalists. 3 days later he reduced that to LSU and TCU, "eliminating Texas" to quote his words. Now, LSU seems to be on the outside looking in, Texas is there, TCU I guess is there, A&M is there, and Auburn gets a visit out of the blue.

I bet you are a fine person, so please don't bet your life on "Jefferson is Auburn or Florida". Decent chance you would lose it.

I would love for you to be wrong here too. And obviously I could be wrong. Here is my main reasoning on all 3 guys that the recruiting mackerel seem to ignore...NOT talking about you...I'm talking the recruiting services.

They are way, way, way too much into "package deals" which 90% of the time turn out to be BS! What I look at are things like final visits, what does the depth chart look like, who is coming on at the end and staying on them, etc. For Jefferson, he must see a wipe open DE position...LSU has some returners at DE but 0 starters. Lewis has to see LBer as an undersigned position (in past and certainly 0 this class) with the real chance LSU plays 4 LBers a lot under Steele. Peters sees 1 safety gone and more CBs really than safeties...both currently on roster and committed.

So I think I can make an outstanding case that in defensive potential (Landsharks sort of lost their luster didn't they) and in their own opportunities, LSU is the place for them to be. Ed Orgeron has nothing over me in recruiting pitches.

You have no idea. We getting Lewis and Peters so sit down and watch this staff work their magic. I have no time for those who can't see we have the BEST recruiting staff in all the land. LSU has the last impression on these kids!

Disagree, I don't think Leo is undersized.

Let's see 2 years working out inside our program. We don't know if it's 3-4 or 4-3 moving forward or hybrid of both? Leo is top priority right now on this staff with no LBs signed.

I didn't say Lewis was undersized. What I was saying is when you play a 3-4 vs a 4-3, you clearly have one more LBer...an extra inside LBer. And like you and I said, a HUGE selling point to Lewis has to be "we don't have a LBer committed". In 2014, LSU only signed 2 LBers. In 2013, LSU only signed 2 guys who stayed in LBer. I love our chances with Leo Lewis...I really do!

Using logic will only get you so far with recruits. If logic worked Bama, OSU, FSU, etc. wouldn't get as many 4 or 5 star players looking at their rosters. LSU would be hard pressed to sign DBs, RBs, TEs, and WRs Yet all of them continue to sign these kids.

We go after needs, bottom line.

Stars are overrated and don't translate into success more often than not, Frank and Steele are working OUR board. I have no care what everyone else "ranks" as far as talent according to pay websites. I trust our coaches fwiw
