It's absurd to imagine these three on the court at the same time. Crowded down low. Not that it matters in the All-Star game.

This is why All-Star appearances should never be used on a resume when comparing players.

I have no problem with the Kobe, Iverson, Yao, etc picks because the All-Star Game is for the fans.

It does not have to be the top PER's in the league.

I'll bite.

1. James Harden is a very good defender, especially this year.

2. When evaluating player, you should always consider both ways. I don't understand the distinction of being a "better two way player." Since the game is played both ways, you are either a better player or you aren't.

I imagine that if the majority of GMs had their pick, they would take Harden. I also imagine that Klay Thompson could not be the guy for the Rockets or really anyone. He is perfect in that #2 role next to most skilled guard in basketball.

Saying James Harden is a very good defender is a bit of a stretch. He's been better this year, but he definitely isn't great. That being said, I think he's been the second most valuable player in the league this year (behind Curry) and should absolutely be starting in the All Star Game.

Replace especially with "for the first time in his career" and I'll agree.

Kobe will be replaced. Harden will fill in as an injury replacement probably.

James Harden should have been the All Star starter in the West instead of fricking Kobe. This is so ridiculous.

Blake is basically a perimeter player these days.

Fair. But this is also the first year that Thompson has shown any ability to attack the rim and bring other things to the table besides just outside shooting. The fact is that we are evaluating both players by what they are now. And Harden is a better player because he is a better overall player, two way player, or whatever you want to call it.

Yeah but now someone who is actually deserving like Westbrook or Thompson will get in.

An Anthony Davis Marc Gasol front court would win 70 games a season. So much havoc.
