Supposedly Donaldsonville was a very nice town... and then they put in Section 8 housing and the place went to shite.

There must be some kinda curse on state capitol cities. Baton Rouge passed up D'ville a long time ago.

I wonder what they have in common???? Where is that Strongsafety girl to explain this to us??

Strong safety is a girl? Now it all makes sense. SS kept saying he was black so I thought it was just some white guilt liberal dude but now I see the light.

Donaldsonville is exactly what the people who own the majority of the town wanted. They own the majority of the land, the farms, etc. No reason it could not be as or more prosperous than the Eastbank they have everything there. It is a mindset of the whole town not just the poor. The people who ran Donaldsonville brought in cheap labor and have made money off of them for years until all the government programs developed and then they were stuck with the results. Try driving LA 1 from Plaquemine to Thibodeaux after 10 at night and you will see that the same has occurred along Bayou LaFourche for the last 40 years. Anyone who could; has moved away or further out.

Stuff happens everywhere. Often it doesn't make the media or get widely reported in some markets. I live in St Gabriel and we have shootings and other incidents happen here that never make the news. Unless you are a cop or a firefighter and get called out to this stuff it's possible that you may never know how much criminal activity is actually going on in your neighborhood.

Volunteer fireman ret. here and I can attest to this. I'm amazed at what is in the local and national news. Houses burn, people killed, etc. in my area and I see where something much less significant than our run makes the national news. Another tidbit of info. I was the spokesman on a couple of the few runs that did make the local news. What was reported was different than what I told them. On one of them I didn't even recognize the report until the reporter got around to reporting my name as the spoksman. It's all a big joke.
