Report: Baseball proposing more time changes to help speed up the game

Last week the news broke that baseball was planning to implement a pitch clock in Double-A and Triple-A next season. Now MLB has come up with another proposal to consider as they continue to look for ways to speed up the game
Here's the report from Jayson Stark of ESPN.com:
Under a new proposal by Major League Baseball, pitchers would be required to finish their warm-up pitches and be ready to make their first pitch of an inning 30 seconds before the end of all between-inning commercial breaks. Similarly, hitters would have to be in the batter's box, ready to start their at-bats, 20 seconds before the end of each break.
League officials estimate that a swift return from commercial breaks — supposed to last no more than 2 minutes, 5 seconds for games that aren't nationally televised — would shorten game times by 10 to 15 minutes.

Are we so busy we can't wait 10 more minutes for a baseball game to end?

Yes, baseball should never take longer than 3 hours for a 9 inning game. I watched some high school baseball last year and it was very enjoyable as there wasn't much breaks in the action.

Or, they could just let the players use PEDs. 90s baseball was very fun to watch and follow.

30 seconds is a long time to just be sitting there waiting for the new TV timeout guy with the red gloves on to give the go-ahead.

A game is just too damn long in the first place.
On the other hand, I don't think shortening a game by 15 minutes is going to suddenly increase viewership. There would need to be more change.

SEC has a pitch clock and it works fine. Games take like 2 hours but thats because every game is 1-0 due to the dead bats.

The change they need to address is the length of the season and when the season ends...but that will never happen.

Is the game that intense that pitchers need to spend an extra 10 min each game walking around the mound kicking dirt?

Until they allowing fights I won't watch it outside of the World Series. MLB is boring as frick.

In the minors, time between pitches is focused on a great deal. I'd be willing to bet that it's touched on or brought up every single day by every single pitching couch. That's not hyperbole, it's that important to the coaches.
Seems like that goes out the window in the majors. Probably in part to the defenses being soooo good and winning is obviously WAY more important, so pitchers can pretty much do whatever they want.

I would be in favor of not allowing the hitter to leave the batter's box, unless of course he was ducking a pitch.

$$$$$
Funny how baseball fans celebrate the occasional late season divisional race. They are quick to point it out as evidence that the season isn't too long. If they would simply reduce the number of games they would see much more of them.

Its a good idea. They need to liven the game up though and get some more longballs. Create new "greatest ever" type hitters.

You can make the case that football players would benefit from taking naps during halftime, but sacrifices need to be made in the name of keeping the game entertaining.

Not so much busy as bored to tears. I can't even stand to watch it live anymore because it is so slow.
I am finding the same with the NFL and College Football too because of the commercials.
