No to the Chalmette wall unless you have a Kayak. Michoud canal not unless you trespass or get permission. There are several spots along the inter-coastal waterway though where you could fish from the shoreline.

Not the chalmette wall, but the Michaud slip you can.
There's two places you can park and walk to the slip. In the 1st pic, you can park near the railroad tracks right close to where Old Gentilly meets Chef Hwy. It's a little longer of a walk.
In the 2nd pic, you can park on the shoulder of Chef Hwy and walk to the slip. It's a shorter walk but a less safe parking area.
I work right down the street from the 1st spot and see vehicles parked in both these spots all the time and see fishermen walking back and forth with their poles, buckets and ice chests.

Tuna Time is gonna be mad you gave up a spot so readily.

Who's that? Not my spot. I don't fish there.
Just helping a fellow bank fisherman out though! LOL
And I didn't technically give up a spot... Just a way to get to a spot.

I've fished the slip. I hear on certain days you can kill the trout. I think the only fish I ever pulled out was a drum. I'll say this though. Extremely dark out there. The parking and walking to the wall is sketchy. Looks exactly the kind of place someone would throw a body. You'd never see it with all the trash everywhere. I wouldn't go out there unless I was carrying.

Thanks. No boat and do not feel like driving to Grand Isle today

I'd try the road along Bayou Terre aux Boeufs or the Ycloskey canal before the Michoud slip area. At least you can see your car out there.

If I was you I'd check out the seabrook bridge. That water is deep and gives the trout a more constant water temp

Go down 23. A few different spots along grand bayou road. Actually plenty right off the highway. Just gotta look at google earth and see how they are. Bring waders.

Went to Ycloskey the last 2 weeks. 1st week the reds were biting like crazy, not a single keeper. I went Sunday and didn't catch a single fish.
