Because they want you to notice them or there's a lot of fog between their ears.

Don't know. I guess it is the trendy thing to do.

There is also the trend to drive with high beams on as well.

Both are stupid.

To have Tye gauges lit up but not the headlights on? No idea. Back when I was younger I liked cruising with just the parking and fogs on. I thought it looked cool

My new Mustang has auto headlights, so I never think about it anymore.

I think most of those are just people with misaligned headlights. Still just showing their stupidity.

Most newer decent cars have an auto setting for your headlamps that makes it unnecessary for you to ever have to touch the controls (except to switch to high beans). The default setting for daytime running lamps (not fog lamps) is on.

I drive with my fog lights on all the time. It gives you better lighting without effecting other vehicles--except those of you who are bothered by other people's every move.

If you can have better lighting at night, and therefore be safer, why not do it?

Why does something so insignificant bother people so much?

Does your car not have a manual?

My new truck even does that automatically. It has a front facing camera in the rearview mirror that turns the high beams on when it's dark and turns them off when it detects light directly ahead. I still have to flip the switch to high beams, then the sensors take over.

As far as driving with fog lights on, I do it on country roads because it lights up the shoulders of the road so I can see if deer are going to jump out of the woods.

This too. A lot of manufacturers have the fog lights be a DRL during the day. So most of the cars guy see like that the driver likely has no choice in the matter.

I think I've used my fog lights twice when it was really foggy

I didn't notice a major benefit

Sure. I just never felt the need to go on a quest to turn the fog lights on. Am I missing out?

No such thing as being too visible on the road.
